On Thursday, July 26th Leveled Magazine and The House of Blues took over the Sunset Strip in conjunction with Lomography for a night of live entertainment and music. The liquor was flowing and the Motown Classics serenaded the building from the dance floor up to the green room. As the crowd filed in we swept them up in our warm embrace and introduced them to three of the more talented musical groups in Los Angeles today.
Setting the tone for the night was the electro-pop collective and our friends AKW, who’s melodically eerie, transcendental performance was the perfect starter dish for what the rest of the night would consist of.
Second to the stage was our pals, The Lonely Wild (featured in Leveled Magazine’s July “Off Stage”) who’s harmony driven Folk songs have enough charisma to captivate even the most skeptical record store critics. If you don’t know who they are, I would do yourself and the people around you a favor and get hip…seriously.
Lastly and certainly not least were the Los Angeles synth-pop group Fire in the Hamptons (A.K.A. FITH) who’s performance truly stole the show and left all onlookers craving more. We must let you know that this is a band that you’ll be hearing much more from in the upcoming months. Fronted by Zack Hampton (featured in Leveled Magazines July Issue, “Home of the Brave”) who’s falsetto voice over a heavily beat driven band captivates an audience in such an enchanting way that any one present is left singing the tunes for days to come regardless of their walk of life.
Thank you to all who participated. If you happened to miss it, don’t worry there will surely be more to come from us here at Leveled Magazine. In the mean time we present to you a gallery of photos from the event to gawk at taken by Leveled photographer Anjelica Jardiel…Enjoy!
