Bat For Lashes: “All Your Gold”

The long awaited Bat For Lashes album The Haunted Man has finally set a release date of October 15th. It’s been three years since the release of Two Suns, which was at the top of my playlist from 2009, well until now. The English singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has been hard at work recording this record and from the sounds of the third single, “All Your Gold,” it’s going to be a good one.

The track feels reminiscent of Natasha Kahn’s earlier work with a bit of a twist. Very danceable and hooky, it is surely going to be a stuck-in-the-head type jam this season. I feel like I belong in Studio 54 wearing a spandex singlet when listening to this. I just got up out of my seat and started dancing in the mirror like a 16 year old girl, if you only saw this ugly 200 pound man flailing to the track, you’d get the feeling that this is a song that really forces you to move. Ok I’m sitting down now with poor posture.

Check out the track and Pitchfork’s discussion of the record with Bat For Lashes Below.
