Here is the premiere of The Alabama Shakes latest video offering. “I Ain’t the Same”, off of their debut album Boys & Girls, features the band in a sonically ideal habitat – a live setting – straight-ahead and unadorned. Director Jane Pollard, best known for her ongoing working relationship with Nick Cave, lets the band do what they do best. She captures them purely playing live, letting the spirit of a floor stomping tent revival meets the muddied banks of rhythm and blues pervade. The video was shot at the storied Konk Studios in London, owned by The Kinks Ray Davies.
The Alabama Shakes played a sold-out show last night at The New Daisy Theater in Memphis, Tennessee.
