Son of a French mason, Xoïl has crafted a new and distinct style of tattoo, which has caught the attention of many enthusiasts today. Started only 5 years ago it’s known as “Photoshop” style. With unmatched strokes, blending, and juxtapositions from his tattoo gun, Xoïl beautifully inks his custom Photoshop-created designs onto his clients. With stamp-like textures, geometric patterns, and typewriter inspired fonts, this is contemporary fine-art for the skin and a daring approach at that. He’s clearly broken every rule in the book and we can’t help but give a nod to his work.
Although west-coast spot has yet to be determined, Xoïl can be found in his current U.S. base as “Loïc” inside Brooklyn’s Tatto Culture. His studio, Needles Side, is located in Thonon les Bains, France, about 45 minutes from the Geneva Airport.
Below are some of our favorite pieces from Xoïl. Enjoy.
